Tiempo Latino is a beautiful reflection of the cutting edge of today's Latin Jazz. From its roots as the direct descendent of Glen Miller's Army Air Forces Band, the Airmen of Note has championed the development of jazz music.  The Airmen of Note recorded Tiempo Latino in order to showcase the incorporation of a multitude of cultural and ethnic influences into classic jazz. The blend of Latin influences on this recording spans North and South America, Europe, Africa and Cuba. Included on the album are many different styles of music such as the classic samba, bossa nova and songo styles from Brazil, the Afro-Cuban style and the Spanish bolero. Some of the arrangements are classic jazz pieces, while others are more modern adaptations of standards.
