A Green and Pleasant Land
A Green and Pleasant Land is the first volume in a series "Music of the Four Countries." Featured here is the Minden Band of the Queen's Division in a programme of English music arranged for the conventional military (wind) band. The choice of material ranges across a wide spectrum of music associated with the country, including traditional airs, works that have become firmly stablished as radio signature tunes and music by two of England's greatest composers: Sir Arthur Sullivan and Sir Malcolm Arnold. Also included is Percy Grainger who, despite being born in Australia, made a significant contribution to the British orchestral and band repertoire. Run Time: 64 mins
