Marches of Distinction

When you think of band music, you will almost certainly hear a march in your imagination.   Marches are arguably the form for wind band and have come to be associated with bands more than with any other musical ensemble. A brief investigation into the history of band music reveals a veritable treasure trove of great marches.  And, it seems that almost every nation has its own "March King" responsible for unforgettable marches with a distinct national character.  Over time, many of these marches have transcended their borders to become international favorites.  On Marches of Distinction, the Band of the Fifteenth Field Regiment gives you a glimpse of the delightful variations composers from around the world have created when they have penned their version of a march for wind band.
