I've finally gotten a chance to review Liberty for All. I think it's quite good - showing photos or the era, the narration and related music. I'm taking it to my school for use by a few teachers who are involved in history. One such is out choral director who also teaches civics and history. I'll report back after he reviews the disc. It seems to me that if schools are aware of the disc it should sell well. Has the MENC mentioned it in any of their mailings to teachers? Has it been reviewed or advertised in the MENC Magazine? I'd think this should help promote the disc easily. At any rate, I think it's well done and should be a valuable tool in American history classes and music classes. Gene..

I enjoyed the Liberty for All CD. The music is great and because of the interactive element it can be used successfully as a teaching tool. Students will enjoy "hearing" history as they learn it. Good job. Margie Gray Buena Vista, CO..

Congratulations on a job well done. Musically it is superb & very stirring, especially such tunes as "Semper Fidelis" and "The Star Spangled Banner," just to name two . I also wish to congratulate you on the educational CD ROM. I have never before seen such a comprehensive educational & historical tool all wrapped in one CD before. It is a must for people of all generations both young & old. I recommend the CD Liberty for All to military music enthusiast's & military historians alike. Damian Noseda JP Melbourne Australia..

The C. D. Liberty For All is a must for lovers of patriotic music. It includes favorites such as The Marines Hymn, The Star Bangled Banner, God Bless the USA, and Semper Fi! The C. D. includes music that was composed from the creation of our nation until the present time. Personally, having heard other bands play these songs, this is definitely the best. Amanda Vickers..

The recently released, enhanced/interactive cd Liberty for All from Altissimo Recordings is an absolutely fabulous disc. Not only are the performances by the United States Marine Band everything you would expect from a world class ensemble, but the choice of repertoire from the various eras of American History and the inclusion of such a prominent military hero as General (Ret.) Tommy Franks truly highlights the incredible role music has played, and continues to play, in American history and culture. The way in which this cd brings together American military, political, and cultural history makes this recording an invaluable asset to teachers and parents who seek to assist their children in making connections throughout a variety of academic disciplines. Perhaps, the best endorsement I can give this disc, however, is to say that my five-year-old son has not been able to stop using it since we got it in the mail. He sits at the computer and clicks his way through the photographs, timelines, and recordings with an enthusiasm that is usually reserved for birthdays and Christmas morning. From my standpoint, the only thing lacking on this recording is a booklet detailing the enhanced content. This would be an invaluable asset to those who wish to experience this cd, but do not have the privilege of having access to a computer to do so. This notwithstanding, Liberty for All, is a tremendous tool for teachers and parents and should be required listening and viewing for every child (and adult) in America. Dominick J. Ferrara, IV Director of Bands Lenape Valley Regional High School Stanhope, New Jersey..

What great pleasure it gave listening to this fine Band perform so many of the great American composers music. From the elegant simplicity of the music of the American Revolution, to selections from Stephen Foster and George M. Cohan, and the stirring "God Bless America" by Irving Berlin, through to the magnificent performance of W. Francis McBeth's "When Honor Whispers and Shouts", this was wind playing of the highest order. As an ex-Naval Musical Director, the brief extracts from "Victory at Sea", which I conducted many times in concerts here in Australia, and Claude T Smiths arrangement of "Eternal Father", another favourite piece of mine, brought back some lovely musical memories. I was led on a fascinating American musical journey by a group of the best musical guides any listener could wish for: " The Presidents Own". Lieutenant Robert Heath, Royal Australian Navy (Retd.)..
