Music for Marines: United States, Royal and Merchant pays tribute to the Men and Women who exemplify the finest traditions of military service. While many are familiar with the heroic exploits of the US Marine Corps and Royal Marines (Dutch and British), few realize the heroic sacrifices under enemy fire of our Merchant Mariners. Throughout America's 200-plus years of a proud seafaring tradition, Merchant Mariners supported America's military and commercial needs, while defending the nation in times of peace and war. The music recorded by the non-professional Midshipmen Band of the US Merchant Marine Academy salutes all Marines and their contributions and sacrifices in the cause of freedom.
