This album is the third in a series of Soldiers' Chorus recordings honoring the lives and music of individuals who have made significant contributions to the choral repertoire and to music education. The Legacy of Nadia Boulanger honors a woman who was an influential French composer, conductor, and music professor. Boulanger was an outstanding music educator who taught many of the most important composers and conductors of the 20th century. The United States Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus recorded this album in April 2006 at Devers Hall in Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. The Legacy of Nadia Boulanger features many important works, including "Fanfare for Peace" and "Wedding Cantata." Honoring the memory and innumerable musical contributions of Nadia Boulanger, this album is both stirring and charming.
